There is no single replacement interval that applies to every vehicle and operating condition. Commercial vehicles must follow their own manufacturer’s maintenance requirements. Assess the condition of the actual suspension assembly alongside its service history.

What Influences Wear?

Repeated travel on rough roads, frequent heavy loading and demanding driving conditions can increase the work a shock absorber performs. The condition of mounting bushes and protective components also matters. A damaged bush or boot can affect the environment in which the assembly operates.

Inspect the Complete Assembly

During scheduled maintenance, check for leakage, damage, deformation and deterioration around the mountings. Changes in ride behavior should be investigated as part of the complete suspension system. A symptom alone does not identify the exact failed component.

Plan a Replacement with the Correct Reference
